SNSI - Commander Davin O'Hora
Commander Davin J. O’Hora, of Jacksonville Florida, graduated in May 1993 from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Commissioned as an Ensign via the NROTC program he was selected for Naval Flight Officer (NFO) training. After completing primary and intermediate NFO training at VT-10 he selected E-2C Hawkeyes and reported to the E-2C Fleet Replacement Squadron VAW-120 in Norfolk VA. He received his wings in Feb 1996 and reported to VAW-126, the Seahawks, assigned to Carrier Air Wing Three. He made two deployments to the Mediterranean Sea and the Persian Gulf aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt and the USS Enterprise flying in combat during Operation DESERT FOX in 1998. In July of 1999 he reported to the Carrier Airborne Early Warning Weapons School at NAS Fallon NV as an instructor. In February of 2002 he reported to VAW-126 again and deployed aboard the USS Harry S. Truman flying combat operations in Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. He reported to VAW-120 as an Instructor and the Administrative Officer in August of 2003. After a short tour he reported in Sep 2004 to VAW-124, the Bear Aces, as a department head. He served as the Administrative Officer, the Maintenance Officer and the Operations Officer deploying to the Mediterranean Sea and the Persian Gulf aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt. In Jul 2007 assigned to US Pacific Command at Camp Smith Hawaii working in the J8 Directorate for Resources and Assessments. He served as a Capabilities Officer and the Deputy Division Chief for the Experimentation and Innovation Division.
In July 2011 he deployed to Bahrain as the Current Operations Officer for Expeditionary Strike Group Five in support of US 5th Fleet operations in the Persian Gulf. After a year in Bahrain, he reported to the United States Naval Academy History Department as an instructor teaching US Naval History, The West in the Modern World and the History of Air Power. He retired in Jul 2016 and holds a Masters Degree from Hawaii Pacific University. |
NSI - Master Gunnery Sergeant Ricky Osborne
Master Gunnery Sergeant Ricky Osborne of Ferguson, North Carolina graduated from Wilkes Central High School in June 1986. He then attended Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon graduation, he was assigned to his Military Occupation School of Field Radio Operator in 29 Palms, California. After completing school, he was assigned to Camp Kinser, Okinawa, Japan for a one year tour that included deploying to South Korea. In 1988 he was assigned to 8th Communications Battalion, Camp Lejeune, NC. During his tour from 1988 -1991, he deployed to Norway twice, Marine Forces Panama , 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and the Persian Gulf in support of Operations Dessert Shield and Dessert Storm. He was then assigned to 2nd ANGLICO from 1991-1993 as a forward observer and deployed with the 22nd MEU.
In July 1993 he transferred to the Marine Reserves in Johnson City, Tennessee. In 1994 he moved to Charlotte, NC and became a Marine recruiter until he augmented back to active duty in September 1995. He was sent back to communications school in 29 Palms, Ca to learn multi channel communications equipment and then to satellite communications school at Fort Gordon, Georgia. He then returned to 8th Communications Battalion from 1996-1999. In 2000 he was assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marines where he deployed with the 24th MEU. After the deployment he was assigned as Inspector-Instructor to 3rd Battalion, 23rd Marines in New Orleans, La from 2001-2004. During this tour he deployed to Iraq in support of (ISO) Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2005 he was assigned to 2nd Marine Logistics Group, G-6 Camp Lejeune, NC and deployed to Iraq ISO Operation Enduring Freedom. In November 2008, he was assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 272, New River Air Station as the Communications Information Systems Chief (CISC). During this tour he was promoted to Master Gunnery Sergeant and transferred to 7th Communications Battalion, Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan in July 2010 as the CISC. In May of 2012 he was assigned to the 1st Marine Air Wing G-6 as the CISC. In March 2011, he earned his Associate in Arts degree from Coastal Carolina Community College. He retired on November 30, 2013. |
